FEDGE RELEASES SOBERING NEW SINGLE ON LOSS AND HINDSIGHT
“WISH I SAW THE SIGNS” OUT NOVEMBER 14, 2025
A haunting ballad written in memory of a friend lost to suicide.
(San Francisco — October 20, 2025) — Following three singles exploring love, visibility, and family ties, Fedge now releases his most vulnerable work yet: Wish I Saw the Signs, out November 14. Written in memory of a close friend lost to suicide, the song is a sobering meditation on grief, hindsight, and the words left unsaid.
With intimate vocals set against atmospheric pop production, Wish I Saw the Signs carries the weight of hindsight: the texts replayed, the empty replies, the pain hidden behind a painted smile. Each lyric lands like a confession, including the refrain: “You were drowning inside, but you painted a smile / I wish I saw the signs, the signs of the fight in your eyes.”
“Writing this song was my way of keeping his memory alive,” says Fedge. “I kept asking myself if I could’ve done more, if I missed the signs. It broke me open in a way I wasn’t ready for, but it also helped me start healing. These are the words I never got to say to him — the things you wish you could go back and tell someone just one more time. I hope this song reaches anyone who’s ever felt that kind of ache, and reminds them to check in, to listen, and to love a little louder.”
Earlier this fall, Wish I Saw the Signs was released exclusively on Bandcamp in memory of his friend, with all proceeds donated to The Trevor Project, the leading nonprofit providing suicide prevention and crisis support for LGBTQ youth. The final, fully produced version now arrives on streaming platforms November 14, his friend’s birthday, continuing its role as both a tribute and a reminder that no one has to struggle alone.
Following the bittersweet regret of Too Early, Too Late, the defiant disco energy of Invisible to You, and the aching pop anthem Can’t You See, this release shifts the tone and pulls listeners into the quietest, most vulnerable corner of Fedge’s debut EP Through It All (out early next year).
At its core, Wish I Saw the Signs is a sobering reminder of how fragile connection can be, and how powerful it is to reach out, listen, and love while we still can.
Wish I Saw the Signs is out November 14 on all major streaming platforms.
About Fedge
Fedge is a Taiwanese American artist turning raw emotion into glittering pop. Based in San Francisco, his forthcoming debut EP Through It All, arriving Winter 2025, is both cinematic and confessional, exploring queerness, identity, and the quiet strength of breaking cycles and coming home to yourself. Written between San Francisco and Los Angeles with producer Griffin Emerson and co-writer Kevin Burke, the songs trace longing, loss, strained family ties, and self-acceptance. His first three singles—Too Early, Too Late, Invisible to You, and Can’t You See—lay the emotional groundwork for the upcoming release, weaving themes of regret, confrontation, and the plea for tenderness where love feels conditional. “I make music to heal myself and hopefully help someone else feel less alone,” Fedge says.

WISH I SAW THE SIGNS - LYRICS
Verse
I'm tracing every text you last sent
You cracked an old joke, it was your way to check in
Wish you spoke before you took to heaven
I mistook your sorrow for distance instead
Pre Chorus
All the things we never said, now rest in my prayer
Like the song you used to hum, but now you're nowhere
Chorus
If time could rewind, I’d reach through the night
But heaven took you before I got it right
You were drowning inside, but you painted a smile
I wish I saw the signs, the signs of the fight in your eyes
Verse
You showed up one day, don’t know why
When I finally asked you, you didn’t shed any light
You gave me an empty reply
Now I know you came to say your goodbye
Pre Chorus
All the things we never said, now rest in my prayer
Chorus
If time could rewind, I’d reach through the night
But heaven took you before I got it right
You were drowning inside, but you painted a smile
I wish I saw the signs, the signs of the fight in your eyes
Bridge
If I could hear your voice just one last time, oh give me a sign
A whisper or flicker of light to tell me you made it up alright
Chorus
If time could rewind, I’d reach through the night
But heaven took you before I got it right
You were drowning inside, but you painted a smile
I wish I saw the signs, the signs of the fight in your eyes
Outro
I wish I saw the signs
